Father’s Day Sucks

Personally I hate Father’s day. My sons had to grow up without their dad being there for them because he died when they were still young. It was about 1 week prior to father’s day that year.

I never knew my dad. He died when I was even younger than my sons were when they lost their dad. My step dad was an alcoholic and he beat my mom often. I stayed away and kept my sons away from him on purpose.

Finally after many years when I was grown and my sons were grammar school age my mom married another man that treated her and the entire family extremely well. He was a good grandfather to my sons and I’m grateful that he was in their lives but he’s also gone now and has been for many years.

My sons are adults but neither one have been blessed with children of their own though I know for at least one of them it is a deep hearts desire.

So………………. for our household……..Father’s day sucks. I dread it every year and every year I’m glad when it’s over.
