Who Am I and what I do

Hi,

My name is Rhonda.

I am a Christian, saved by the blood of Jesus Christ.

I am also an artist, instructor,  and the owner of Bizzy Handz Sewing.

My mediums vary but are primarily fabric, thread, paper, ink, colored pencils, words and music. I create handmade greeting cards, soft toys, quilts, baby items, totes and many other items. I “teach” sewing, quilting, crochet, hand embroidery and card design in group and private settings.

I believe laughter is essential in the creative process and practice it often. I also break out in song (singing-another passion of mine), at the drop of a hat and encourage others to do the same. Laughter and singing, (on key or off), makes the day brighter.  I like most types of music but am drawn to traditional country, county gospel,  bluegrass and bluegrass gospel.  I’m “trying” to learn how to play the mandolin, the key board and the ukulele. The ukulele is  such a happy little instrument and it’s so easy to get started on.   I want to share the fun with everyone and beginning Jan. 2017 I was  blessed by being allowed to lead a small ukulele group at a local recreation center.   If you ever want to get together and make music just for the fun of it….drop me a line and we’ll work out a time and place!

I am in the process of copyrighting original art work to be used on a line of handmade greeting cards and a coloring book for children.

I love to write and enjoy the creative process of placing words on paper. I look forward to a time I can spend more time writing with the possibility of being published.

I also enjoy designing custom jewelry but to date have only created it for gifts or personal use.

In addition to the above creative skills, and just because I’ve always worked in offices, I am proficient in all areas of office operations, including but not limited to: Word for windows, Excel spreadsheets, Microsoft Publisher, PowerPoint, 10 key, account reconciliation, accounts payable, receivables, paperless record systems and  file management.

I enjoy working with computers a lot and I am a quick study with new software. I especially enjoy desk top publishing.

I’d like to get to know YOU better so drop me a line and introduce yourself.  Let me know what art form you are drawn to, what medium you work in and what creative process you are passionate about. Oh and  take the time to  leave me a link to your website so I can check it out – I really  am interested.

Rhonda

  P.S.

In January of 2015 I was blessed to get to teach a quilting class at UNLV.  It was an amazing experience.  I currently work part-time at 2 of the local recreation centers as an instructor in sewing, quilting and paper art.
