Publishing Research

In the past I’ve done a small amount of research regarding publishing my own work. Lately though, I’ve been doing more in depth and serious research on the subject. There’s copyright’s to purchase, ISBN’# to purchase, proof reading, cover art, paper choices, binding choices and so much more involved that has nothing to do with content of the book. None of that really bothers me because the information is readily available. What does bother me is the money that is needed!

A person can publish on Amazon for very little money but, in my opinion, there are simply too many con’s and not enough pros to consider publishing that way. Now, I’m sure there are many people that would disagree with me and can tell me how great it has worked out for them, a friend or a cousin. That’s fine they’d get no argument from me as it’s simply my opinion drawn from the research I’ve done so far. I will research it further. I am also looking into other options but it seems the more I learn about them the more I realize I don’t come close to having the money I would need.

I do enjoy the reseaching and learning new things so that’s a plus but as of now, from the information I have gathered, it looks like I won’t be able to have my work professionally published. I say that knowing that I have no idea what is in God’s plan for me. For now I will pray, continue to do the research and learn all I can about the process. If he miraculously provides a way for me to publish some of what I’ve written – Praise the Lord and if not – Praise the Lord! Like all things, it is in his hands.
