Quilting FUN!

What a great day at the Neighborhood Recreation Center Quilting class.  A few items finished, some new ones started and many more steps completed on the  projects that are in the making.

I provide a main class project and a few alternative projects but if the student wants to bring in something from home to work on they are free to do so.  I will help as much as I can if needed.

Some of the students will choose one of the blocks that  I provide (shown in the picture above hanging along the sides of the Christmas Quilt example) to learn. Once their block is finished they can then make more of the blocks to complete a quilt or they can use it to make a pillow  or tote bag. That’s a great way to learn new techniques without the commitment of completing a whole quilt.  Here’s a few pictures showing some of the things the students have made using their  blocks.

The quilts pictured below were both  started prior to me teaching the class but they were  completed recently. The top one was finished just today. Both ladies worked diligently, tying then putting the binding on by hand.   Great job ladies, they are truly beautiful! _________________________________

One of the sweet ladies brought and shared her accuquilt machine. Using it, she took her class time to cut out the squares and triangles for  those working on the Christmas quilt.  Doing so,  provided them with perfectly accurate pieces  and eliminated  lots of cutting time.

SUSAN……..Image result for thank you gifso much!

Oh what’s that? I do believe it’s my sewing machine calling me.   It must be time to return  to my sewing room and get BIZZY!

Until next time,

P.S.

If you live in the area  and would like to join a quilting class but are unable to join us 9:00am to 11:30 am on Thursdays then please contact me. We are starting new classes Tuesday and/or Thursday 5:30 pm to 7:30 as soon as there are enough students interested.
