A Little Bit More

Today was a wonderfully normal day. Peaceful with time to spend in my sewing room.

After finishing what needed to be done on my daily to do list I finished cutting out all the pieces I prepared last night. I then removed the paper backing off the heatnbond adhesive from each piece, arranged it all on the background blocks and ironed everything down.

I added crayon details on some of the blocks. After using the crayons you have to place a paper towel over the marking and press a couple of times. When the crayon markings are pressed the paper towel absorbs the wax and, at the same time, heat sets the dye on the fabric . When I’m doing cartoonish images I like the effect a lot.

Now that all the preparation is complete I have a stack of blocks ready and waiting for the sewing to begin.

I’ve posted a few pictures but everything will look much different once the details and free motion quilting is complete. That may take a while since I’m working on this a little bit each day as time permits.
