I had 5 minutes before it was out the door to a dr’s appt so I thought I’d use the 5 minutes and take pictures of what I’m working on. I’m home now so I can share them.

I first 2 pictures are of applique blocks that have everything  placed where I want.  The next step will be  stitching them down. I’ll probably use a satin stitch because I really like the look it gives applique work.  After that I’ll add all the hand embroidered details.

The 3rd picture shows a set of pieces ready to cut out then iron to the background fabric.  I’m not going to applique any of the blocks until I get a stack of them ready. It’s easier to sew many all at once.

This last picture is of a hexie quilt that I’ve been working on for a very long time.  Right now it’s about 48 inches across the center from point to point.   Sometimes I work on it a few nights in a row but, at  other times. I won’t  touch it for a week or more.   It stays folded  by my bed with a little container that holds a few straight pins, needle, thimble, small scissors and thread.  Many times after a nightmare I’ll pray, read my bible and then  pick it up and make myself focus on sewing one stitch after another.  The repetitive motion of the needle going in and out is very therapeutic for me.

That’s it for now everyone.  Work done, dr appt  over,  dinner finished, this update finished and I still have a few hours to sew.

Until later……big hugs and……
