I’ve cleaned up my sewing area and pulled out my papers, glues, paints, stamps, ink and glitter.  I am working on a special order for gift bags and looking forward to getting my hands inked and having glitter in my hair. 🙂

I’ve always loved paper, color, textures and all the things I now get to use making bags and cards.  One of my favorite places to go, was and still is,  an office supply store.  They have all sorts of wonderful things in them.  LOL I know I’m a bit strange.

This order is for 10 gift bags. I already made one….posted a picture of it  and it has been delivered  so I have 9 more to go. I will post the bags as I get them finished.

1.  getting started by scoring some card stock.  This is a very handy tool to have. It’s by Martha Steward and I use it a lot when working on cards.

2.     Here is another tool I have.  The Sizzix Texture Boutique Embossing Machine.  I’m using it to add texture to some plain paper to use on one of the bags. 

3. Here’s a close up of the textured paper.  Sadly it doesn’t show up that well. But if you click on the picture it will enlarge. If you click on it again it gets even larger  and  that will help you see it better. You have to use your back button to come back to this page though.

4.           Here I’m using one of my punches to make a boarder that will go around the picture on the bag.  I don’t have many punches but the ones I have I use often when making cards.  This one is made by Fiskars. 

5.  Here are 2 pictures of the first bag of the day. I used mounting tape to pop the little flowers up off the back ground and placed a small stone in the middle of each one for ‘sparkle’.  I placed another stone on the cars collar. I used glitter pins to add a little more sparkle on one cats collar, on the bow of the other one and on the dots in the back ground.  I used a needle and thread (see I have to sew something) and added thread to the ball of yarn to give it texture. The paper I used my punch on are added around the outside edge of the picture for more interest and color.

6.  While working on the second bag I was “sewing” again—- can’t get away from it even if I’m not technically “sewing”.  I really like the look of hand stitching on paper. I don’t know if you can see it but the blue back ground paper has tiny bows embossed on it.  This paper came that way.

7.  Here are 2 pictures of the second card of the day. On this one I printed out the picture with a very light setting and then used copic markers to color the image. I really enjoy using copic’s and would like to take some classes to get “certified” but  I don’t have very many of them. They are pretty expensive so the ones I have I’ve gotten mostly as gifts.  Class will have to wait. 😉   I used glitter pins here and there on this one also just to high light a few things. And then wrapped ribbon around the base before adding it to the bag.  Finally a little bow was applied using a glue dot. Simple but cute.

WOW….all that posting and adding the pictures took much longer than I realized so I probably won’t post any more tonight but I’ll try to add more tomorrow.

OH HAPPY ME!!!
