Goooooood Morning Everyone & Happy Saturday!!

I’m up early (been up for hours actually) after being up late ….  as usual.  At times I wish I could sleep longer then I wonder how I’d be able to complete all the things I do if I slept more.  I always seem to need more time as it is.

Today I’m finishing up a Ukulele Lady doll (so I can get her in the mail Monday) and starting on another one. I was asked to create a fisherman’s (aka fiddlers) cap for the new doll.  I’ve never made one in any size so that should be interesting. I also have an alteration job that needs to be completed before Tuesday. I may not tackle that today but then again it’s a small job so I might do it first so it’s out of the way and I can focus on the dolls.

It doesn’t sound like much but the dolls take a long time.  They have lots of individual parts to cut out before anything else can start. After cutting everything out  and  carefully drawing the  faces  it takes me a couple of hours to hand embroider everything.  Once the face is complete and the hair is sewn on the tiny arms and legs have to be sewn together. Then they are layered between the front and the back of the body and the doll is finally sewn together.  The next step is stuffing everything.  That takes so much more time than you’d think. First the head and body then the arms and legs.  Of course the 5 little openings (one for the body, one on each arm and one on each leg) have to be hand stitched closed once the stuffing is completed. With the body, face, hair and stuffing complete the work on the clothing and shoes begin.  After all that is completed I still have the jewelry to create. The little necklaces and bracelets are all hand strung. With the dolls assembled, the clothing and jewelry done I finally start work on the tiny ukuleles. They take a lot of time also.

Yep, the small dollies with all their pieces and parts can be pretty tedious  and very time consuming but it’s so much fun to watch their little personalities take shape as I work on them. They are all different and  I really do enjoy creating each one.

also….I have some EXCITING NEWS to share:

Yesterday I accepted and started another part time job. It’s only few extra hours a month but the work is all done from home so I don’t have to be concerned about fragrances, wind or pollen. What a blessing!

… so with all that said ….. I’d better get “bizzy”.

Have a great day everyone

& remember…life is short so take time to…

sing loud, laugh a lot and – be kind one to another.
