I have to laugh every time I post something about food and cooking. I never used to do that and didn’t plan on ever  doing it but here I am……..

 

One thing I’ve noticed since I have been posting about what I’m cooking is that I do cook a lot like my grandmother.  I guess that’s normal since she raised me I just never really noticed or thought about it before.  

 

Tonight we’re having fresh green beans with potatoes, fried cabbage with onions, fried bacon, homemade cornbread. pickled beets, sliced tomatoes and green onions.

 

 

This looks like a lot of cabbage but if you’ve ever cooked it you know it will cook down to less than half this amount.  Normally I don’t buy red cabbage to  fry but the last time I ordered my groceries to be delivered I didn’t specify red or green and they brought red.  I had one head of green so I just mixed them. 

 

 

We have plenty to eat, I am able to cook and we have a home to eat in. We are blessed beyond measure.  I pray you have the same.
