2 almost finished

I have numerous projects going all at once which is rare for me. It makes me feel unorganized but right now it can’t be helped because some of my orders are for things that take a lot of time but I’ve recently gotten a few items that just need to be hemmed.  That doesn’t take long so I don’t want to make that client wait for weeks for something that can be completed in about 2 hours.

……….I am almost done with 2 of the many dolls I’m working on.  I should have them completed before the end of next week. I’m still not completely happy with the ukuleles that are going to go with them but I have someone that is going to see if they can cut some tiny ukes out of actual wood.  That would be terrific.

Anyway ……….for now here are pictures of the 2 dolls that are almost finished.  All that’s left besides the uke are just a few esthetic tweakings.

The first one  that’s shown below is the first one I did.  I  don’t like the eyes (they were from a pattern also) and the fact that the pattern doesn’t have thumbs.  I also think the arms and legs are too small.  The faux leather fringed jacket and the long skirt are both my own designs.   I wasn’t fond of the shirt being part of the body either.  I’ve used patterns that did that before and it was okay but I just wasn’t happy with this one.

I made a few changes to the pattern and drew different eyes to embroider for the second doll.  She’s about the same height (approx.14 inches) as the first doll but the eyes, pony tail, arms and legs are larger.  Also, I made the body one piece instead of making part of it the clothes like the pattern says to do.   The clothes are all my own design. I gave this one a jean mini skirt  instead of a long jean skirt like the first on.

I used plastic/fabric flowers instead of creating felt ones like shown on the pattern. I added beads on the boots and little seed bead necklaces.

I still have a little work to do on both of them before they are complete but they are coming along.  Once I decide on what ukulele I’m going to use I’ll post pictures of the completed dolls with their ukuleles.
