Fun Bright Dust Mask

While teaching a beginners sewing class at Walnut Recreation Center I met a sweet young lady, her siblings and their hard working, loving mommy. Sadly one of the itty bitty  ones in this precious  family struggles with asthma.

Today was supposed to be windy and her mommy posted on my facebook page …you should sew  little masks for when the weather is bad for kids like__________. Cute ones with the characters and stuff.

WOW…..what a great idea……and why didn’t I ever think of doing that????

Well, I got BIZZY right away and made one tiny little dust mask. I’m so excited to see how it fits her. Once I make sure it fits correctly I will make more with all kinds of fun fabric.  Maybe, prayerfully, having a few bright and fun masks that she can pick out to wear will make her feel  special and make things a little bit easier to deal with.

…The sample…

[It’s really is too big for my little model but I tied it in the back for the picture.]

The outside fabric is 100% cotton washed in laundry soap that is for sensitive skin and is unscented  then left to air dry.

Sandwiched between the outside fabric and the lining is thin natural  needled cotton batting that  contains NO resins or glues.

The inside lining is unbleached muslin washed in laundry soap that is for sensitive skin and is unscented  then left to air dry

When I get more made I’ll post additional pictures.

Nite Nite for now……………big hugs to all.
