More scrappy blocks
It’s late but I wanted to post a few pictures of the different “scrappy” things I worked on today.
The first picture is of the #9 Shoo Fly Scrappy block of the Day
Next I worked on assembling some of the 6 1/2 inch blocks I finished recently. After they are all assembled by 4’s making 12 1/2 blocks I will start adding the sash. I’m still leaning towards using black as the sashing color. I’ve see this quilt made without sashing but I liked the look of the last one I made using sashing. (I will post a picture of it at the bottom of this page)
I also completed all the scrappy portions of a different block to be used in a different quilt.
I still have to add the white portion of the 6 1/2 blocks like I did on the ones pictured below.
I went ahead and put a few squares together just to see how the completed blocks will look if I don’t add sashing between the blocks. Sashing or no sashing????? I am thinking no sashing
but once I have all the blocks completed it will be easier to decide because I’ll be able to play around with them laying them on top of a dark fabric with space in between the blocks. That will give me an idea of how they will look with sashing. Since I am leaning towards no sashing I went a head and made an extra 12 scrappy pieces that I can use to complete another row to keep the quilt a decent size. If I don’t use them on this quilt I’ll have them for the next one. I haven’t even made a dent in the scraps I have so I know there will be more in the near future.
Okay…that’s enough posting for this evening.
………sleep tight and sweet dreams………….
Here are a couple of old pictures of a past scrappy quilt I made where I used black sashing between the blocks…
