Thursday morning 8-21-14

I had a very bad headache last night.   I do occasionally have headaches but they are not normally an issue for me, I just deal with them and go on. But this one was different and it knocked the wind out of me.  Sadly  I missed church because of it      🙁      and then to top it off wasn’t able to  get any sewing  done even though I was at home.  This morning it’s some better but definitely  not gone.  It feels like the “worse part” of it is lurking right under the surface waiting to pounce if given the chance.  Odd………….and irritating.

Okay that’s *enough* whining and complaining from me.  It’s time to move on and talk about SEWING and QUILTING!  That’s so much more interesting!

Today my plans are to make another purse so the pattern will be completely ready for my class on Monday.  I want to make sure  all the kinks are  worked out and all directions written down.  Also, I want to make additional copies of the pattern so more than one person can cut out their pattern at a time. It takes up so much time if everyone has to wait their turn to cut when there is only one pattern to use.

I also want to make a few different types of fabric pouches to hold small items such as individually wrapped candies for small Christmas gifts.  I have a couple of ideas I want to try out. These will also be used in one of my classes.

I need to work on my quilts also.  I have 5, yes I said FIVE, quilt tops that are ready to sandwich and quilt.   That is not good and it bothers me to have unfinished projects.  My personal projects always get placed at the bottom of my list though, because the work I need to do for my classes or orders I receive are given priority, just as they should.  Maybe I can get at least one of them pinned to the batting and backing and ready for the quilting.  That would allow me to have at least one to work on when I can sneak in a few moments here and there.

Final thoughts for this morning:

I enjoy going into my sewing room any time of the day or night and working. My sewing machine sits in front of a window.  Early in the morning I get to watch as the sky fills with wondrous, brilliant  sunlight as the coming day tosses it’s blanket of the night’s slumber aside.  I get to hear the birds sing sweetly  with unfettered enthusiasm  as they greet a new day and it starts a melody within my own heart. Through out the day I get to witness all  the people walking by,  my neighbors working in their yards,  the street sweeper moving slowly along, the kids playing ball the streets and  cats napping lazily  in the sun.  As the evening approaches I get to watch the sky morph from the selected brilliant palette of the day to an equally beautiful grand view as it blossoms into a  sparkling jewel filled garden of darkness. It brings me so much joy sewing there in front of that window.  Also, I like being there in that room, surrounded by the fabric and tools that bring me so much happiness. My sewing room is such a comforting place to be and the Lord provides it all!  My home, the sewing room in my home, every thing  in it and the time that I am allowed to be there.   I am truly blessed!!

thank you for all you provide
