Todays quilting class and more…

Today’s quilting class was over way too soon, as always. The time  seems to go so quickly and I hate to see it end.

Sadly we had three that were unable to attend today (you were all missed terribly).

There was a new student in class today though and that’s always a blessing.

Welcome Vicky………….I’m so glad you could join us.

Thank you Rachel for bringing her, taking pics and sharing this precious video with us.

Two of the ladies worked on the binding to their quilts while  the other 2 worked on learning a new block.

Below are just a few pictures to show today’s “Bizzy-ness” in class.

I’m not sure if they know it (I’ll have to be sure to tell them) but their enthusiasm  keeps me motivated and encouraged. I enjoy the class, maybe more than they do.

Next Thursday, in the quilting class. we will be starting on a Christmas themed quilt. We need to get moving if it’s to be completed on time.  The quilt will be assembled using a quilt-as-you go technique and every week I will explain the block for that week. Each block will help teach or reinforce a quilting skill.  There  will be applique,  traditional piecing, fussy cutting, paper piecing and more.  The first block is the easiest.  It’s a block of simple appliqued holly leaves. Actually, it is the first  four blocks because the four corner blocks are going to be the same just positioned differently, as shown below.

Now for some misc things:

Don’t forget the center is CLOSED on Monday, Sept. the 3rd so there will not be a class that day. We will be back on the 4th for the regular scheduled classes

and….

one of my students recently went on a mini vacation to the beach. She searched and searched to find just the right size and shaped stones to give as  gifts.    I hot glued mine together because I didn’t want to take a chance of losing any of them. Isn’t she clever-I love it! Thank you Rachel.

Oh my, look at the time. I have to get to the post office to mail out an order and I have somewhere to be at 3:30.  Thanks for taking the time to read my ramblings about the day. Take care, be kind to others and…

Don’t forget we will be starting a new quilting class soon. It will be Tuesday or Thursday (both if enough people are interested) at the Neighborhood Recreation Center.  The classes will be 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm for 2 hours each. There are sewing machines at the center for you to use in class along with scissors, pins and more. You will be responsible for bringing your own fabric and batting.  The cost is $24 for a 6 week session.  Please let me know if you are interested.

If you have any questions about orders, classes or need help on one of your sewing/quilting projects- call me anytime.
