Thoughts for today ….
I am so very blessed!
The Lord takes care of my every need and provides many of my wants.
I love him and deeply desire to serve him as an expression of my love for him. I used to be able to serve and minister in more physical ways but over the years that has changed. Not only have I gotten older but now having to stay out of the wind and away from fragrances and chemicals I am much more limited in what I am able to do.
With my limitations what can I do????
1. I can pray. I consider prayer an extremely serious ministry. It is a privilege and amazing on so many levels.
In the past, I have had unsaved people get angry and tell me not to when I shared that I was praying for them. Of course I continued to privately pray for them but I do understand their reaction. After all, they are unsaved.
Once though, after I mentioned, in private, to a brother in Christ that I was praying for him and his family, he became visibly and verbally upset. He said that it was totally wrong of me to tell people that I was praying for them and gave me all the reasons why he felt that way. His response really surprised me because I personally like to hear that others are praying for me. I NEED all the prayers I can get and am encouraged by and grateful to those that take the time to pray for me and mine.
And just so you know-if I say I will pray for you or am praying for you, I mean it!
2. I can sew……………..I have the “know how” and lots of fabric (most of which has been given to me). I have always sewn and found pleasure in given away many things in the past but I have decided to start dedicating all my sewing time for a minimum of one day a month to sew for others. Sometimes there is an actual need for an item of clothing and other times there is simply a need to let someone know they are loved. Everyone needs encouragement. A little something that was not expected can be just the thing. 🙂
Honestly, I could easily and happily sew, sew, sew every day and give it all away without hesitation. Like most people though, I do have to work so I can’t do that every day but I can dedicate a portion of my time sewing for others.
What a blessing that I am able to do these things.
God is so good to me!
